About
Hi, I'm Jerry Gu.
I build software, data, cloud & AI systems — and I write PyDeployer to help more people get their Python projects into production with confidence.
Why PyDeployer
More and more people are writing Python today — a lot of it vibe-coded with AI, by people who never expected to be doing "software engineering" in the first place. That's a good thing. But it also means more people are stuck at the same step: they have something working on their laptop and no clear path to move it to production safely and correctly. In the age of AI, understanding how your backend and deployment actually work matters more than ever, not less — it's how you know what the AI-generated code is actually touching, and how you keep control of security once it's live and public. PyDeployer exists to close that gap.
More About Me
I'm a software engineer with a background spanning geographic information systems, computer science, and mathematics. Over the years I've collaborated with scientists, researchers, engineers, and analysts — people who are experts in their own domain but not necessarily in backend systems — helping them move their Python work out of notebooks and prototypes and onto real cloud and HPC infrastructure in production.
That's the experience I try to distill into every guide here: clear, practical, production-ready steps for getting Python projects — web apps, APIs, data pipelines, and AI agents alike — actually running on the cloud and hosting platforms people use, without needing to become a full-time infrastructure engineer to get there.
Alongside PyDeployer, I maintain a curated list of Python frameworks and share more of my work at my personal website.
